“Fantasy-Team” is possible!

We receive many questions if a team has to consist of players exclusively from one club. This is not necessary as long as you don’t want to become “Austrian Champion”. You can play with any “Fantasy-Team” and you can nevertheless win all money prices.

We will publish the first list of teams and players between April 23^rd and 25^th.

The deadline for depositing the registration fee has been extended from April 15^th to April 30^th.

Originally, April 15^th was the deadline for registration, aiming to motivate individual players to sign up early and thereby simplify the organization of the event.

The intention was not to achieve the highest possible registration fee; therefore, the deadline has been extended to April 30^th.

15^th World Champion Viswanathan Anand will be at Grand Prix in PlusCity!

We are happy to announce, that World Chess Federation FIDE will participate in Grand Prix in PlusCity with their own teams including the 15^th World Champion Viswanathan Anand on May 9^th for the Blitz Team Tournament. The FIDE-Team will also consist of former Women’s World Champion Zhu Chen, GM Victor Bologan, GM Mohammed Al-Modiahki, WGM Dana Reizniece-Ozala, IM Akaki Iashvili, WFM Sava Stoisavljevic, Alex Martynov and GM Pavel Tregubov.
